Expansion Device
Manual Expansion Valve
The manual expansion valve is the simplest type of throttling device. Its opening is adjusted manually by turning the handwheel to control refrigerant flow rate and reduce pressure. It has no automatic adjustment function.
Applications:
1.Small, stable-load refrigeration systems
2.Hot gas bypass circuits
3.Simple industrial refrigeration units
Thermostatic Expansion Valve
It is the most widely used automatic expansion device in refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

1.Automatically adjusts refrigerant flow according to cooling load
2.Maintains stable superheat to prevent compressor liquid slugging
3.High efficiency and precise temperature control
4.Available in internally equalized and externally equalized types

Float Expansion Valve
It is an automatic expansion device that controls refrigerant flow according to the liquid level in the evaporator, mainly used in flooded evaporators.
Features:
1. Mechanical liquid level control (no temperature sensor)
2.Stable and constant refrigerant feed
3.Suitable for large-flow and flooded evaporator systems
4.Available in high-pressure and low-pressure types
Applications: Large cold storage, industrial refrigeration, ammonia systems, flooded evaporator units.
Capillary Tube
The capillary tube is a simple throttling device consisting of a long, narrow copper tube that restricts refrigerant flow to reduce pressure.
Features:
1. Simple copper tube with small inner diameter
2.No moving parts, no valves or adjustments
3.Low cost, highly reliable
Applications: Household refrigerators, freezers, small air conditioners, dehumidifiers, small ice makers.
